SALT LAKE community college

My name is Eric Dederding. I am an adjunct instructor at SLCC. I currently live in New Jersey, where I teach Digital Photography and Graphic Design at a local High School in addition to teaching for the college. Although I always wanted to be a teacher, I have only been teaching since 2017. I took a slight detour into the printing industry after I found out about some awesome college graphics courses at Kean University that led me to getting Bachelors of Science in Graphic Communications Technology Management and joining the printing industry. There I dabbled in estimating and worked mostly in print production and sales for about 11 years before having the opportunity to transition into teaching. I love being a teacher. I love the subject matter. It keeps my life and job more interesting.

On a more personal note, I am a big fan of the outdoors and going hiking and camping. I love taking my puppy on day trips in new places. I have a passion for taking photographs and documenting events and trips I take in a creative way. Technology is wonderful. I also enjoy old school board games along with game nights with my friends I've had since Kindergarten.

Eric teaches and contributes to the development of ART 1210 – Math for Visual Arts, ART 1280 – Photoshop Software, and ART 2120 – eDesign & Publishing.
